Am I the oldest swinger in town!!!
I have been following the progress of this band after becoming acquainted with an Aussie blogger Mal on plurk. So when his band The Night Before produced 'The Milltown Tapes' demo album I decided I wanted to own a copy. Since producing this tape they have a new vocalist, so I will watching with interest to see and hear how the band continues to develop.

I don't know are you? (The oldest swinger). I'm also wondering if you're aware of the more used definition of swinger? In which case, as your daughter I don't want to know! xxxxx

Chris and Beccy - I recognized the post title right away, but I don't know if this is what Chris was thinking of.
Back in the 80s and 90s, a band called "Diarmuid O'Leary and the Bards" was very popular in Ireland. One of their songs that got a lot of radio play was called "The Oldest Swinger In Town". It was about a guy who tries to go clubbing/dancing, only to find that he is too old. Memorable lines from the song included "When you walk into the disco and they offer you a seat..." and "When your dentures glow in the ultraviolet light, you're the oldest swinger in town".
So, there is your obscure musical reference for the day :-) Great post though!
M that is definitely the song I was thinking about (if not that version) In the 80's my other daughter (Sam) was in a dancing display and this was one of the tunes they danced to with one of the girls father acting as the old swinger.
